SIMI VALLEY — A Simi Valley woman was in fair and stable condition going into surgery late Saturday night after being injured in a severe traffic accident on Madera Road, hospital officials said.
Karen Lee Gregory, 30, was driving east on Madera Road shortly before 3 p.m. when a car traveling in the opposite direction made a left turn, crashing into her car, Simi Valley Police Department officials said.
She suffered a fractured left ankle and pelvic injuries. She was taken to Simi Valley Hospital and later transported to the Ventura County Medical Center where she was scheduled for surgery, a nursing supervisor said.
Two children, ages 2 and 3, who were passengers in her car were treated for bruises at Simi Valley Hospital but were not seriously injured.
The driver of the other vehicle, Eric John Kivlen, 27, of Simi Valley, was not injured.
