Nazarene Wins Opening Game

JACKSON, Tenn. — Julia Yunusova scored 20 points as Southern Nazarene opened defense of its NAIA Division I national championship Thursday night by racing past Biola, 81-51.
Southern (31-2), seeded second, didn’t trail and wasn’t seriously threatened. Southern advances to a 6:15 CST meeting with Mary Hardin-Baylor on Friday.
Biola (19-12) was out of contention early, trailing 49-20 at the half.
Southern led, 45-11, on a jumper by Astou Ndiaye, who scored 16 points, with 3:42 left in the opening half.
In the opening half, Ndiaye had 14 points and Yunusova 15.
