Outlook: The Oilers will be much improved from last spring, with Shaw as the backbone of the squad. The junior was third in the 800 meters at Masters meet, advancing to the state meet with a personal best of 2 minutes 14 seconds. Reed was fourth in the county meet in the 100 a year ago, and has bests of 12.62 and 26.30 over 100 and 200 meters. Collins is one of the county’s top pole vaulters (8 feet 6 inches). Junior distance ace Jennifer Spahr has chosen to sit out the track season and plans a transfer to Marina in the fall.
