Cartoon Calling

The International Museum of Cartoon Art, with collections that span more than 200 years of cartooning and include more than 150,000 original works, opens today in its new home in Boca Raton, Fla. The museum, said by organizers to house the largest and most comprehensive collection of international cartoon art in the world, was founded in 1974 in Greenwich, Conn., by “Beetle Bailey” creator Mort Walker, who began collecting cartoons in 1960. The museum, 201 Plaza Real, in Boca Raton’s Mizner Park, is open Tuesday through Sunday. Tickets are $6 for adults, $5 for students and seniors, and $3, children 5-12. Information: (407) 391-2200.
