Dominguez Overpowers Inglewood

There is only so much Inglewood and Coach Patrick Roy can take, and when it comes to Dominguez High, they received their fill long ago.
Dominguez won its second State Southern Regional Division II title in a row with a 67-57 victory over Inglewood Saturday at the Pond of Anaheim.
Inglewood (29-5) lost to the Dons (33-2) for the fourth time this season.
“They’re just a better basketball team,” Roy said. “Bigger, stronger and much better.”
Inglewood accomplished only what it had in the previous meetings. It held on for three quarters before the Dons burst it open in the fourth.
The fourth quarter charge was led by 6-foot-7 sophomore Tayshaun Prince, who finished with a game-high 22 points. His dunk with three minutes remaining gave Dominguez a 59-49 lead.
Guard Kenny Brunner added 18 points for the Dons.
Brunner held Inglewood’s top player, Jason Hart, to 16 points, five below his average.
