Bank Heist Suspect Awaits Hearing in Jail

Accused bank robber Todd Hoult has been transferred from the Ventura County Jail to a federal lockup in Los Angeles to await arraignment, law enforcement officials said Friday.
Hoult, 23, is being held in the federal Metropolitan Detention Center without bail until an arraignment hearing scheduled for March 13, said his attorney, Shawn Perez.
That is the day that Hoult, a former wrestling champ for Agoura High School and Moorpark College, and his soccer star girlfriend, Tabetha Garibay, are to enter pleas in the Dec. 14 robbery of a Westlake Village bank.
Garibay, 20, is free on a $25,000 bond.
But Hoult probably will await his court date behind bars rather than seek a hearing to set bail, Perez said.
“Todd and I have already talked about that. He can’t raise the bail at this point, not from where he’s at,” Perez said. “He’s going to defend and stand his ground. He’s not a whiner.”
The pair were indicted last week on charges that Hoult robbed the Coast Federal bank at gunpoint and Garibay drove the getaway car.
