Track and Field
Shaw, from Ocean View High, had a busy week. In two meets, he either won or was part of winning teams seven times. Against Orange Coast, he won the 200 meters, the long jump, the triple jump and ran the anchor leg on the winning 400 relay team. Against Saddleback and Rancho Santiago, Shaw won the long jump and the triple jump and also ran a 40.9 split in the 400 relay.

* Basketball, sophomore. He had 31 points in a victory over Bakersfield and 34 as the Gauchos beat MiraCosta to advance to the state tournament.
