A Simi Valley man and his alleged accomplice from Los Angeles are awaiting arraignment in Ventura County Jail on suspicion of attempting to rob a Simi Valley apartment, authorities said Friday.
Police suspect that Jason Barton, 20, and Joseph Jordan, 23, sprayed a 17-year-old Simi Valley youth in the face with pepper spray at his Country Club Drive residence Thursday afternoon.
The teenager was inside his apartment when he heard a knock on the front door. When he opened the door, the men sprayed the boy in the face and fled, police said. The youth received minor injuries, police said.
Officers contained the area and arrested the suspects without incident, police said. Both suspects are held in lieu of $50,000 bail and are scheduled to be arraigned Monday.
