Record Night for Senators

A hat trick by Alexei Yashin sparked the Ottawa Senators to a 7-1 victory over the Blues at St. Louis Tuesday on a night when the Senators broke several offensive team records, including those for quickest three, four and five goals in a game since the team joined the league in 1992.
The Senators also tied their record for goals in a game, set in 1993, and broke the record for largest margin of victory, set last season.
The Blues did not offer any excuses after the one-sided game.
“I can’t think of any time we’ve hit rock bottom this year any harder than this,” Coach Mike Keenan said.
Calgary 5, San Jose 3--Gary Roberts scored three times and a power-play goal by German Titov early in the third period helped the Flames beat the Sharks at Calgary.
Rookie Alexei Yegorov scored all three of the Sharks’ goals.
