Musical ‘Harlem’ Set as a Widney Benefit
“When Harlem Was in Vogue,†a musical by Ernestine Harbour, will be presented by Widney High School and the F.A.M.E. Drama Department at Widney High School in Los Angeles on Feb. 10 at 2 and 7 p.m. as a benefit for the school’s Communication and Media Center.
The performance will highlight the lives of Langston Hughes, Josephine Baker, Paul Robeson, Bessie Smith, Louis Armstrong and others who were part of the Harlem Renaissance.
The school is a Los Angeles Unified School District site serving students ages 12 to 22 who have special needs.
Tickets are $5 and $7.
