Man Sentenced in Sexual Battery
VAN NUYS — An 18-year-old Lancaster man was sentenced to 45 days in jail for fondling a 15-year-old girl who was working in a Halloween haunted house in Canoga Park, authorities said Thursday.
Municipal Court Commissioner Mitchell Block also placed Ricardo Lopez Bejar on two years summary probation Thursday, forbidding him to contact the victim, after Bejar pleaded guilty to one count of sexual battery, Deputy City Atty. Kenneth Tso said.
Tso said Bejar was passing through a Halloween haunted house in the 6600 block of Fallbrook Avenue on Oct. 29 about 11:30 p.m., when he entered a room where the 15-year-old was employed as a “screamer.”
On cue, the girl began to shriek.
Bejar reacted by grabbing the girl by the throat, pinning her against a wall and touching her breasts through her clothing, Tso said.
