UC Irvine Women Defeat Nevada Las Vegas

UC Irvine shot 74% from the field in the second half to pull away from host Nevada Las Vegas, 84-62, in a Big West Conference women’s basketball game Sunday.
The Anteaters (8-8, 3-4 in conference) led, 30-24, at the half, then made 17 of 24 shots in the second half and outscored the Rebels, 54-38.
Letcia Oseguera was 11 of 17 from the field and made eight of 12 free throws to finish with 30 points for UC Irvine. Allah-mi Basheer added 21 points and 10 rebounds.
In another Big West Conference women’s game:
Long Beach State 91, San Jose State 81--Ja’net Davis had 22 points and Kim Barfield scored 13 of her 19 in the second half for the visiting 49ers (7-8, 3-4).
