JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. — President Clinton is a “do- nothing liberal president” who has blocked Republicanreforms, House Speaker Newt Gingrich said Friday.
He also announced that Republican plan to launch a television advertising campaign next month attacking Clinton for the balanced- budget impasse.
Concluding a nine- day, nine- state tour that has raised about $3 million for Republican candidates, Gingrich accused Clinton of opposing welfare reform, a balanced budget and tax relief.
“The sad fact is we have a do- nothing liberal president who is not interested in passing the reforms the country wants,” Gingrich said. “The legislative branch got the job done.”
