Burbank Boys Beaten by Burroughs Brothers
Freshman Amed Meneses headed in a corner kick from his brother Miguel in the 62nd minute as the Burroughs High boys’ soccer team defeated Burbank, 1-0, Friday in a Foothill League match at Burbank.
Burroughs is 10-5-3, 3-2 in league play; Burbank is 7-8-3, 2-3.
Saugus 7, Hart 1--Nate Wright scored his 22nd and 23rd goals as the Centurions (17-1-2, 4-0-1) erupted after playing to a 1-1 first-half tie in a Foothill League match at Saugus.
Uriel Castaneba scored for Hart.
St. Francis 2, Notre Dame 1--Eric Johnson and Pete Vagenas scored in the final four minutes as the Golden Knights (16-3, 6-2) defeated Notre Dame (5-6-1, 3-4-1) in a Mission League match at St. Francis.
El Camino Real 3, Granada Hills 1--Mike Conn, Gerardo Herrera and Jeff Soll each scored for the Conquistadores (7-5-3, 4-2-2) in a Northwest Valley Conference match. John Paul Roepke scored for the host Highlanders.
Cleveland 2, Kennedy 1--Douglas Gonzalez and Oscar Alvizuris scored for the Cavaliers (7-2-3, 3-2-3) in a Northwest Valley Conference match at Kennedy.
Miguel Aguilar scored for the Golden Cougars.
Chatsworth 1, San Fernando 0--Jorge Rodriguez scored on an assist from Mike Grofsky for the Chancellors (7-6-2, 5-2-1) in a Northwest Valley Conference match at San Fernando.
Birmingham 2, Taft 0--Pablo Lastorta and Gabriel Ortega scored for the Braves (8-1-2, 6-1-1) in a Northwest Valley Conference match at Birmingham.

Chatsworth 3, Granada Hills 1--Amanda Light gave the Highlanders an early lead in a League A match at Chatsworth, but the Chancellors (10-0-1, 4-0) answered with goals by Kim Pickup, Jackie Fodor and Michelle George.
El Camino Real 3, Grant 2--Melissa Cleal, Christina Trbovich and Sara Simon scored as the Conquistadores (6-3-2, 2-0-2) edged the Lancers (1-10-1, 0-3-1) in a League A match at El Camino Real.
Cleveland 2, Birmingham 0--Liz Alvarez and Patty Castro scored for the Cavaliers (4-1-1, 4-1-1) in a League C match at Cleveland.
Westlake 1, Simi Valley 0--Stacia Spangler scored in the first half for the Warriors (10-5, 6-2) in a Marmonte League match at Simi Valley.
Chaminade 3, Louisville 0--Kerrie Clavadetscher scored two goals and Jennah Peake added another as the Eagles (13-6-2, 4-1-1) cruised in a Mission League match at Chaminade.
Notre Dame 2, Flintridge Sacred Heart 1--Sarah Morgan and Bri Hadfield scored for the Knights (8-7-2, 2-2-2) in a Mission League match at Notre Dame.
Hart 3, Saugus 0--Carly Shafer, Mandy Stupar and Kellie Nordhagen each scored, and Laura Qualls had three assists for the Indians (12-3-2, 4-1) in a Foothill League match at Hart.
La Canada 9, Rosemead 0--Brittny Zimmerman scored three goals for the Spartans (9-1-4, 2-0-3) in a Rio Hondo League match at Rosemead.
