Corona del Mar offensive lineman Nick Schaumburg has orally committed to attend Colorado State next year.

Schaumburg, a 6-foot-5, 258-pound offensive tackle, was a Times Orange County second-team all-county selection who helped the Sea Kings reach the Division V semifinals.

He also was an All-Southern Section Division V player.

Jenny Benson, a midfielder for the Marina girls’ soccer team, and Jill Nelsen, a midfielder for Newport Harbor, have made oral commitments to attend Nebraska this fall.

Woodbridge High’s Dave Cowen has been recognized as a certified athletic administrator by the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Assn. Cowen is one of 750 athletic directors nationwide to earn this recognition.
