Start-Up School: More than 130 students from Southern California high schools will learn the basics of starting their own businesses at a one-day seminar Wednesday at USC. The “Mind Your Own Business” entrepreneur program will allow students to work in small groups with members of the university’s Business Expansion Network to develop concepts that can grow into successful companies. In the spring, one of their business plans will be awarded $2,500 in seed money. The seminar, co-sponsored by California One-to-One, a not-for-profit youth and mentoring group, will be held from 9 a.m. to noon in USC’s Gerontology Auditorium at 3715 McClintock Ave., Los Angeles. Students can register by calling Amy Senier at California One-to-One at (213) 617-5743.
