Steiner Voted OCTA Head
SANTA ANA — The Orange County Transportation Authority unanimously elected Orange County Supervisor William G. Steiner as its new chairman Monday.
Steiner replaces Westminster Mayor Charles V. Smith, who will continue to serve on the board of directors. Los Alamitos Mayor Robert P. Wahlstrom was elected vice chairman, a post previously held by Steiner.
Steiner takes over just six months before $38 million in funds earmarked for the OCTA is scheduled to be turned over to the county as part of a bankruptcy relief plan.
