Saatchi Brothers Trying to Buy Back Name: Maurice Saatchi, the former head of Saatchi & Saatchi, is trying to buy back the name of the international advertising agency he and his brother founded, according to a report in London’s Independent. In return, Saatchi is offering to promise to extend his moratorium on poaching any more clients and staff members. The offer from the brothers’ new company, M & C Saatchi, has been turned down by Cordiant, the renamed holding company, which still owns the rights to the Saatchi & Saatchi brand, but Maurice Saatchi is continuing his efforts to start talks, the newspaper reported. Maurice was deposed as chairman of the board of Saatchi & Saatchi in December 1994 after a shareholder revolt. Neither of the two companies was available for comment.
