Fire Guts Anaheim’s Aqua Tech Plant
ANAHEIM — Fire gutted a 10,000-square-foot commercial building Friday evening, causing an estimated $1 million damage, a Fire Department spokesman said.
The building at 2267 E. Via Burton St. housed Aqua Tech Water Systems Inc., a company that manufactures water purification systems. No one was in the building during the fire, which authorities estimate began about 7 p.m.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
One of the 30 firefighters called to the scene broke his arm during the hour-long effort to put out the two-alarm blaze, the spokesman said. The injured firefighter was treated at Anaheim Memorial Hospital and released.
