Man Escapes Injury in Freeway Shooting
A 35-year-old Granada Hills man was unharmed after an apparently random freeway shooting in Simi Valley during the Friday morning rush hour, police said.
David Davis told police he was driving westbound from the San Fernando Valley about 7:20 a.m. on the Simi Valley Freeway near Yosemite Avenue when a man driving a white Chevrolet van pulled alongside and pointed a handgun at him.
The man fired two shots, one of which struck the Davis vehicle’s passenger door, before the van exited at Stearns Street, police said.
Police said they did not know what provoked the attack, if anything.
