Canyon 61, Savanna 35--Ryan Walker scored eight of his 17 points in the second quarter for host Canyon (13-4), which led, 33-11, at halftime.
Cypress 52, Buena Park 47--Chad Boberg scored 27 and Wes Bunn had six points and nine assists for eighth-ranked Cypress (12-3), which outscored visiting Buena Park by five in the second half.
El Dorado 67, Valencia 46--Kevin Sweet scored 23 points and Ryan Ayer added 20 for host El Dorado (9-6), which made 26 free throws in the fourth quarter.
Esperanza 84, La Mirada 45--Josh Greer scored 27 points and became the Aztecs’ all-time rebounding leader, surpassing Matt Kordik’s total of 582 in 1992. Lohnnie Tape added 11 points for third-ranked Esperanza (14-2).
Fountain Valley 59, Ocean View 48--Nathan Strange and Timm Katz each scored 16 points for host Fountain Valley (7-8). Mike Seguin scored 26 points for Ocean View.
Loara 53, Western 46--Although Western pulled even at 42 with 3:19 remaining, Loara’s Neil Thomas, who scored 10 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter, helped the Saxons (9-6) pull away. Vince Branstetter scored 20 points, including five three-pointers, for Western.
Los Alamitos 106, Foothill 51--Travis Strang scored 21 points, A.D. Lamoureux had 19 points and 12 rebounds and Cory Johnson had 17 points for sixth-ranked Los Alamitos (11-4), which scored 61 points in the second half.
Mater Dei 62, Calvary Chapel 52--Top-ranked Mater Dei took an eight-point lead after the first quarter and held on at UC Irvine. Kevin Augustine led the Monarchs (17-1) with 25 points. Nate Morton scored 20 points and Joe Ortiz 19 for Calvary Chapel (10-5), which made eight of 21 three-pointers.
Mission Viejo 44, El Toro 39--Commander King scored eight of his 11 points in the fourth quarter as Mission Viejo (14-3) rallied from a five-point deficit in the final five minutes. Don Williams had nine points. El Toro (11-5), which had only three players score, hit nine three-pointers.
Santa Margarita 77, Huntington Beach 48--The Eagles (10-4) led by three at halftime but broke the game open by outscoring the Oilers, 36-6, in the third quarter. Allen Krist scored 21 of his 30 points in the third quarter for Santa Margarita. Matt Jones scored 17 points for Huntington Beach (3-11).
In the Garden Grove League:
Rancho Alamitos 66, Bolsa Grande 64--Corey Brown and Paul Lira scored 16 points each for Rancho Alamitos (4-10, 1-0).
