OXNARD : Coroner Finds That Woman Was Strangled
Although police have not identified the body of a woman found near a remote beach in Oxnard, county coroner’s officials said Saturday that the woman died of strangulation and head injuries.
The body was discovered about 9:30 a.m. Friday by two surfers who were on their way to a remote beach at the northern edge of Point Mugu Naval base.
The victim was described as white, with sandy brown hair and brown eyes, and was estimated to be about 45 years old, authorities said. She was dressed in a print blouse and brown slacks and was wearing a pocket watch on a chain around her neck, police said.
