University of Oklahoma regents will meet today to appoint a search committee to find a replacement for Howard Schnellenberger, who unexpectedly resigned Monday after only one season as football coach at the school. One candidate could be John Blake, former Oklahoma player and assistant now coaching the Dallas Cowboys’ defensive line. . . . Southern Methodist quarterback Derek Canine has dropped out of school after admitting he submitted a term paper written by his brother, the Dallas Morning News reported. . . . USC offensive lineman Jeremy Hogue and defensive linemen Matt Keneley of USC and George Kase of UCLA were named to the GTE Academic All-American team.
