What’s His Line?

I have a question that has left me wondering for some time: Is J.D. Crowe, who draws the illustrations for the “Travel Insider” and other articles for the Travel section, the same person (or related to) J.D. Crowe, the bluegrass musician of “J.D. Crowe and the New South?”
It would seem like an odd career mix, but then, how many J.D. Crowes are there? Regardless of the answer, I think his drawings are excellent.

Editor’s note: J.D. Crowe, the musician, is from Kentucky and is considered one of the world’s best banjo players . J.D. Crowe, the cartoonist, is from Kentucky but is considered, at best, a mediocre guitar player. They ‘ re not the same person.
