The musical blind side of Calendar is on exhibit once again in Robert Hilburn’s article “Freshman Class: Here’s to the Ladies” (Dec. 3).
I have no argument with his selections so much as his one omission: Lorie Line, the rising queen of New Age music. Line is New Age’s steamroller without the Mannheim.
She is a pianist who has had 10 best-selling albums in a row. This is alongside concert dates that invariably draw adoring crowds of fans who understand what quality music is all about--and rave reviews from critics, who show a greater aptitude for these musical times than our Los Angeles Times.
