GLENDALE — Two robbers armed with a pistol burst into a pet hospital Friday afternoon and walked out with about $600 in cash, Glendale police said.
The thieves held up Gateway Animal Hospital in the 400 block of Los Feliz Road about 1:50 p.m., Sgt. Paul Hayashida said, and fled onto the Golden State Freeway in a dark blue compact car. No one was injured in the holdup, he said.
In another robbery less than an hour later, a lone man robbed the First Nationwide Bank in the 100 block of W. Stocker St. about 2:30 p.m., and escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash, he said. The robberies do not appear to be connected, police said.
