Man Dies When His Car Flips on Freeway

CAMARILLO — A 71-year-old Thousand Oaks man died when his car flipped over and rolled off the southbound lanes of the Ventura Freeway in Camarillo on Thursday afternoon.
Albert Eugene Acton died after sustaining multiple injuries in the one-car accident just north of the Pleasant Valley Road off-ramp, said Craig Stevens, senior deputy coroner for Ventura County.
Acton, who was trapped in his car, was pronounced dead at 4:27 p.m. at St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital in Camarillo, Stevens said.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating to determine the cause of the accident.
