An Encino man was hospitalized over the weekend after being shot in the face by a friend who told investigators she was acting out a role in a popular television show, police said.
The victim, Clyde Agnew, 39, was expected to recover from a gunshot wound he suffered Saturday at his apartment in the 5300 block of Newcastle Avenue, Los Angeles Police Detective Rick Swanston said.
Witnesses told police that Agnew and the suspect, Elizabeth Roonay, 39, of Northridge, were drinking when Roonay allegedly fired Agnew’s .357-magnum handgun, Swanston said. A bullet struck Agnew in the nose and exited through his cheek.
Roonay was arrested on suspicion of negligent discharge of a firearm, Swanston said. According to a police report, Roonay told officers, “We were playing ‘Miami Vice’ with a gun.”
