SOUTHERN SECTION PLAYOFF ROUNDUP : Pecaro Run Lifts Saugus to Victory

Mark Pecaro ran 21 yards for a touchdown with 1 minute 49 seconds remaining, giving Saugus High a 17-10 victory over Santa Monica (6-5) in the first round of the Southern Section Division II playoffs Friday night at Canyon High.
Kevin Carrasco of Saugus completed eight of 11 passes for 125 yards, including a 42-yard touchdown pass play to Anthony Smith. Smith had five receptions for 97 yards.
Pecaro ran 10 times for 69 yards. Jeremy Mushinski added 50 yards in 11 carries for Saugus (6-4).
