Hey, St. Louis: Thanks for the Advice

I readily agree with Bruce Sommer, who manages the Trans World Dome in St. Louis [Nov. 12]. It is important that any new sports complex should be designed as a multipurpose facility. However, unlike Mr. Sommer, I don’t believe a city has to have a professional football team to be big league in the eyes of others. It seems to me that he or the city of St. Louis has a serious problem with self-esteem.
Although I had Ram and Raider tickets for 10-plus years, I don’t miss a home team. I don’t miss paying full price for meaningless exhibition games, and I would never consider ordering season seats if a licensing fee is attached.

If fans want to get back at NFL puppet Commissioner Paul Tagliabue and the carpetbag owners, don’t let them bring in a team, or teams, to Los Angeles--and if they do, don’t support them.
These pirates know that the L.A. area, especially with a new stadium is an extremely lucrative market. Hit them in the pocketbook.
