A comment concerning Pete Thomas’ Nov. 8 story detailing Dan Fox killing the largest black bear ever in Southern California:
After using eight hounds to chase the bear for 2 1/2 hours, Fox shot the animal twice and described the event as “pretty thrilling.” Wouldn’t it be more thrilling to shoot the bear with a camera, so some of us might someday see this magnificent creature?

In the Nov. 8 story, it’s too bad the spear fisherman killed the tuna for sport before a great white shark got the fisherman for food.
