Kenyatta Burris caught seven passes for 142 yards and two touchdowns as Monroe High stayed undefeated by beating Canoga Park, 34-21, Friday night in a Valley Pac-8 Conference game at Monroe.
Burris scored for the second time on the last play of the first half, putting the Vikings (5-0, 2-0 in conference play) in the lead for good, 14-7, with a 13-yard reception. Earlier, Burris scored on a 60-yard pass play to tie the score.
Canoga Park (1-4, 0-2) scored on its first possession when quarterback David Montoya connected with Michael Shoemaker on a 32-yard pass play.
Monroe’s Aaron Arnold completed eight of 11 passes for 150 yards and rushed for 59 yards in eight carries.
