Dos Pueblos 31, Rio Mesa 20--Farhaad Azimi completed 10 of 22 passes for 214 yards and a touchdown but the Spartans (1-4, 0-2) lost at Rio Mesa.
The Spartans lost a 20-17 lead when Dos Pueblos (3-2, 2-0) scored 14 points in the last two minutes.
Dos Pueblos quarterback Anthony Ramos and receiver J.J. Brunner erased the late deficit with a 55-yard touchdown pass play that put the Chargers ahead, 24-20, with 1:58 to play.
Bruce Samuel gained 93 yards in 17 carries for Rio Mesa. Samuel missed last week’s game because of concern over an enlarged-heart condition.
