Mervyn Barnett, 76, who designed interiors for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Century City Towers and the Los Feliz Towers. He founded Barnett Bros., a Beverly Hills design firm, and was elected president of the Southern California chapter of the American Institute of Interior Designers in 1960 and 1961. He was chairman of the institute’s national board of governors and was president of the California chapter of the Decorative Trades Council. Barnett earned a master’s degree in English literature from Oxford University and was president of the Oxford Society’s Southern California chapter. On Sept. 23 from complications of Parkinson’s disease in Los Angeles.
