COMMUNITY COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Golden West Wins in Volleyball

Tina Bowman had 15 kills and four blocks to lead Golden West in its 15-11, 15-6, 15-7, 16-5 victory over Riverside in an Orange Empire Conference women’s volleyball match Wednesday at Riverside.

Ursula Luna had 13 kills and three aces for Golden West (6-0).

In other Orange Empire Conference women’s volleyball:

Orange Coast 3, Fullerton 0--Michele Stevens had 12 kills and Heather Daze 10 for Orange Coast (5-2, 1-0), which won its conference opener, 15-5, 15-7, 15-8.

Saddleback 3, Rancho Santiago 0--Gina Ybarra and Jennifer Morris each had nine kills for host Saddleback (5-1, 1-0), which won, 15-6, 15-7, 16-14. Jennifer Cincotta had eight kills for Saddleback (1-2, 0-1).

In South Coast Conference water polo:

Fullerton 12, Mt. San Antonio 9--Ian Ching scored five goals and Todd Hartman three for Fullerton (12-5-2, 2-0). Peter Lange had 16 saves for the Hornets.

Golden West 24, Cerritos 11--Golden West (13-1-1, 2-0) led, 13-5, at halftime and got goals from 11 players.
