OXNARD : Sailor to Show Tape of 128-Day Voyage

People who have dreamed of sailing solo to faraway places such as Maui, Tahiti, Japan, and Uruguay can meet someone who has actually done it.
Frank Guernsey will share his sailing adventures during a presentation at the Maritime Museum in Oxnard tonight. The Redondo Beach man’s latest voyage was a 128-day trip from California, down around Cape Horn, and up the east coast of South America to Uruguay.
Guernsey, who is in his 50s, will share a 30-minute videotape of the trip, which included a storm, and he will give tips on surviving the sea alone.
The presentation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the museum, 2731 S. Victoria Ave.
