Arrola B.C. DuBridge; Widow of Longtime Caltech President

Arrola Bush Cole DuBridge, 95, widow of the late Lee DuBridge, who was president of Caltech from 1946 to 1969. She earned degrees in psychology and English from Cornell College, where she met and married her first husband, Russell Cole, who was president of Cornell from 1943 to 1960. She also had met DuBridge at Cornell where they were classmates, and they married in 1974 when they both were widowed. She was active in the Caltech Associates, as well as in the school’s service league and women’s club. The Caltech Alumni Assn. named her an honorary alumna in 1992. The Achievement Awards for College Scientists Foundation established the Lee and Arrola DuBridge Endowed Scholarship Fund at Caltech in 1992. On Saturday in Hingham, Mass.
