USC Names New Architecture Dean

Houston architect Robert H. Timme has been named dean of the School of Architecture at USC. His appointment is effective Jan. 1.
Timme is dean of the University of Houston’s College of Architecture, where he has taught design and design theory since 1972. He has concurrently served as founding director of the Centre d’Etude d’Architecture et d’Urbanisme, a research and teaching center in Saintes, France, since 1990. Timme will continue to direct the center and to edit its yearly journal, Saintonge.
“Bob Timme is both an excellent administrator and a highly successful architect,” said Lloyd Armstrong Jr., USC’s provost and senior vice president for academic affairs. “I am confident that our school of architecture will prosper under his leadership.”
Timme succeeds Victor Regnier, who has been dean since 1992 and will now return to full-time teaching and research.
