THOUSAND OAKS : Storyteller Plans Tales of Terror
Renowned Ventura storyteller Jim Woodard will host a 30-minute program on the age-old art of storytelling at 11:30 a.m. Sunday on KCLU public radio in Thousand Oaks.
The program, which can be heard at 88.3-FM, will feature several spooky tales tied to upcoming Halloween. Woodard will also recount the history of scary stories.
On Tuesday at the Oxnard Hilton, Woodard will discuss the importance of storytelling before business and professional leaders from the Oxnard Rotary Club.
He will also tell two stories--an old folk tale and an old biographical story about a past president.
Woodard directs a storytelling club session every Friday at the Ventura Boys & Girls Club on Johnson Drive.
