OXNARD : City Police Officers to Patrol Campus

Oxnard High School may have skipped town, but the Oxnard Police Department is on its trail.
The new high school, which opened last week, is situated off Gonzales Road in Ventura County Sheriff’s Department jurisdiction. But the county Board of Supervisors voted Tuesday to allow Oxnard officers to continue patrolling the campus.
“The high school and the Police Department have an ongoing relationship on issues ranging from education to crime prevention,” said Richard Rodriguez, a chief deputy with the Sheriff’s Department. “It just doesn’t make sense to disrupt that relationship.”
