Cal State Northridge will show off its athletic department Tuesday at mixer celebrating the sixth year of competition in the National Collegiate Athletic Assn.’s Division I.
Co-sponsored by the Northridge, Chatsworth and Granada Hills chambers of commerce, the two-hour reception will begin at 5 p.m. in the Athletic Office Building at CSUN. Food and refreshments will be served and free parking will be available in Lot C on Zelzah Avenue between Plummer and Nordhoff streets.
“It’s basically to network, to socialize,” said Sherry Linsley of the Chatsworth chamber.
Paul Bubb, CSUN’s director of athletics, explained that the mixer is an opportunity for the department to reach out to local residents and merchants.
“It gives them a chance to see what we’re all about,” he said. “We’re always looking to see if we can work with more businesses,” he added.
All attendees will receive a free ticket to a CSUN women’s volleyball match against San Diego State immediately following the reception, Bubb said.
