Kathie Maier has taken over as athletic director at Cypress High, replacing John Selbe, who resigned at the end of the past school year to spend more time with his family, school officials said Wednesday.

Selbe, who was the head football coach at Cypress, is an assistant coach at Kennedy.

The finals of the 34th Huntington Beach Open will be Sunday and Monday at the Pacific Sands Tennis Club.

Championship rounds in 13 men’s and women’s divisions will be held. The divisions include open divisions for singles and doubles. Sunday’s matches run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday’s matches run from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
