Ex-Officer Denies Guilt in Sex Case
A former Beverly Hills police officer and Sunland resident pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges that he sexually molested two teen-age prostitutes.
David Beckstrom, 32, is charged with one count of oral copulation with a 16-year-old boy and two counts of lewd conduct against a 15-year-old boy. The 10-year veteran of the Beverly Hills Police Department, who resigned several days after his arrest earlier this month, was arraigned in Los Angeles Municipal Court.
Beckstrom’s alleged victims were teen-age prostitutes who dressed in drag, said Deputy Dist. Atty. Lauren Weis. She would not give any details, except to deny a Los Angeles Police Department report that the investigation was sparked when the boys filed a complaint against Beckstrom at the Hollywood police station.
Beckstrom’s defense attorney, William Hadden, declined comment.
