Philadelphia pitcher Tommy Greene, plagued by soreness in his throwing arm this season, has returned to the 15-day disabled list because of inflammation of his right shoulder. Greene started Sunday’s 9-1 loss to the Dodgers, giving up eight hits and six earned runs in 5 1/3 innings of work. He has an 0-4 record with a 7.20 earned-run average in eight games. To replace Greene, the Phillies recalled right-hander Mike Grace from triple-A Scranton Wilkes-Barre.

Bagwell, the 1994 National League most valuable player, broke his left hand July 30 when he was hit by a pitch from San Diego’s Brian Williams.

Astro catcher Rick Wilkins, who is trying to work his way back from a herniated disk, joined Bagwell for the rehab assignment.
