Woodland Hills : Couple in Fatal Car Crash Identified
A Northridge couple who were killed over the weekend when their car veered out of control and collided with a pickup truck in Woodland Hills have been identified as Donn and Marlena Morigi, police said.
The Morigis died Saturday evening when their Porsche struck a pickup near the intersection of De Soto Avenue and Erwin Street, said Detective Bill Osuna of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Donn Morigi, 39, who was driving, was thrown from the car and his 30-year-old wife was crushed in the wreckage.
Osuna identified the passengers in the pickup truck as Jorge Aquino, 33, his wife, Maria, 31, and the couple’s 4-year-old son, whose name was not released. All three were listed in serious but stable condition Monday.
According to police, Morigi was speeding when he lost control and veered into oncoming traffic.
Witnesses told investigators that the Porsche apparently was racing with several other sports cars just prior to the crash, but Osuna said that account is under investigation.
