Police Drug Sting Nets 25 Arrests
HUNTINGTON BEACH — An undercover drug sting operation resulted in the arrests of 25 people, police said Saturday.
Police detectives posing as drug dealers sold a cocaine substitute to suspects who had gone to the area of Slater Avenue and Koledo Lane to buy drugs on Friday, said Sgt. Tom Arnold.
Twenty people were booked on charges of soliciting the sale of a controlled substance while others were held on a variety of charges, including burglary, police said.
“One man offered to exchange stolen goods in exchange for cocaine and led detectives to the stolen property,’ Arnold said. “He pointed to the house he had broken into and undercover officers took him into custody.”
Huntington Beach detectives were assisted by officers from the Huntington Beach, Garden Grove, Tustin, Cypress and Placentia police departments.
