Bank Robber Takes $5,855 in Laguna Beach
LAGUNA BEACH — Police are searching for a man who robbed a bank of nearly $6,000 Saturday morning.
The man walked into the First Interstate Bank, 381 Forest Ave., about 10 a.m., handed a note to a teller demanding cash and displayed a handgun. The teller gave the man $5,855 in mixed denominations and he escaped through the bank’s back door, police said.
The robber is described as white, 6 feet tall, 40 to 45 years old, with brown hair. He was wearing sunglasses, blue jeans and a green polo shirt.
The robbery is being investigated by Laguna Beach police and the FBI, police said.
