Two Youths Arrested After Car Chase
ANAHEIM — Police arrested two juveniles Thursday who led them on a chase in a stolen Cadillac through residential streets at speeds up to 60 m.p.h., running red lights and stop signs, authorities said.
The chase began near Lincoln Avenue and Beach Boulevard about 10:15 a.m., when an officer tried to stop a driver who ran a stop sign, Police Sgt. Mike Webb said.
“They just took off as soon as [the officer] flipped on his lights,” he said.
The driver led police onto the Santa Ana Freeway, heading south toward Brookhurst Street, where he took an exit. The chase continued through residential streets and ended about 10 minutes later at Crescent Way, where two boys, ages 16 and 17, were taken into custody on suspicion of evading officers and auto theft, Webb said.
