Banks in Port Hueneme and Carpinteria were robbed Tuesday, authorities said. There were no injuries.
The Port Hueneme robbery occurred at 9:30 a.m. at Bank of America, 755 W. Channel Islands Blvd., FBI Agent Larry Dick said.
The robber handed a teller a note but did not display a weapon, Dick said.
Inserted in the cash handed over to the robber was a dye device that exploded, causing the robber to drop some of the money on his way to a getaway car, Dick said.
The robber was described as a Latino man, about 25 years old, approximately 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds. He was described as having dark brown hair.
The Carpinteria robbery was committed by a man suspected of robbing six banks in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties this summer, Dick said.
The robber struck the Bank of Montecito, 1023 Casitas Pass Road, at 11:30 a.m. He handed a teller a note indicating that he was armed, Dick said.
The Bank of Montecito robber was described as a white man between the ages of 38 and 42, about 6 feet tall and weighing 220 pounds. He was said to have short brown hair.
