The High Cost of Illegal Immigrants
* I sit here day after day, reading about the fall and demise of what used to be very strong and wealthy counties. Orange and Los Angeles counties, and who knows how many others in this state, have always had their share of problems struggling to make ends meet. Until recently, we’ve always managed to survive, and we must ask ourselves why we are now failing. It seems like every time the people of these counties attempt to pass legislation to help themselves, some group (usually the ACLU or one of their spinoffs) jumps in to block such legislation. Proposition 187 comes to mind.
As a citizen, I feel defenseless against the pressures of financial attacks. We, as members of this society, cannot continually support illegal immigrants without severe consequences. The enemy, financially speaking, is among us, and we don’t seem to have the insight to do anything to protect ourselves.
